I have a real nice Kreighoff holster with no makers mark ,nice E/2 on inside. On the inside by the closing strap is stamped the name Walz. Jerry Burney has seen this on other items. Anyone have any idea who or what this means? Klaus , have you seen this? Thanks for any info. Bill

Bill, yes I know this Walz..
I have a closure flap, for the Artillery stock, which is Walz stamped (see the bad photo). I think this guy is a leather accessories maker like Maury & Co. christian |

Bill, I know the WALZ- stamp only on the leather of the LP08 stock as Chistian shows it on his photo. Most Krieghoff holsters are without the marker stamp. Because of the stiches I belief that only two marker made the holsters for the Luftwaffe/ Krieghoff. One was Eger & Linde Schalkalden.
Some years ago I visited a collector in the Düsseldorf area. He showed me a nice Kü- Luger. He picked it up from his barber. I also looked at the holster. It was brown and inside on the lining (dictionary) was the late Luftwaffenabnahme (Krieghoff acceptance mark). If I remember correct was the brown holster made by Böcker Waldbröhl and even got the WaA stamp. My barber offered me never a Luger. May be I should go to the next. |

Bill, the stiches on the closing strap for example of some Krieghoff or Luftwaffen accepted holsters for the P08 are done as on the other Army holsters: 2 lines of stiches on the closing strap.
The stiches on the Eger & Linde Seligenthal/Th or EGER & LINDE SCHMALKALDEN holsters are made like an U as on the photos. I observed that Eger & Linde has done the stiches only in this kind (on the Army type holsters). I never mentioned one exception. Sometimes the holsters are dated, sometimes not. So I think there were 2 makers of the Krieghoff holsters. Best regards Klaus |

Klaus,
Is the Death's Head marking on the first holster you show authentic? |

Doug, Yes..That is an example of an authentic Death's Head on a Luger holster. The only known period photo I know of... is of an SS Soldier wearing one.
