I have a 1918 /1920 DWM that has what I take to be a unit marking stamped on the front grip strap A/A.R.6.8. The numerals (6 and 8 are somewhat smaller than the letters). I know a photo would be better, but I've had a hard time posting photos. Can someone help me identify these markings?

Hi John,
Welcome to the forum.. A/A.R.6.8 is a Reichswehr Army unit mark which translates to: Ausbildungs/ Artillery Regiment 6 Stab weapon #8. (Training Battery/ Artillery Regiment 6 Staff weapon #8.) Ron
