Question for the experts. Did mauser or any of the other makers also make a cleaning kit for the pP08? I came across a cleaning kit at a show and the guy was selling it along with a P08 saying it was a P08 cleaning kit. It looked to me like a mauser rifle cleaning kit ie; it had a long chain etc.

Welcome to the forum Bob! Reason you only want experts to answer?
![]() Yes and no. prior to WW2 there were seperate cleaning kits, then at some point they made a combined K98 / P08 / etc cleaning kit, probably as you saw. You see original kits often on e-bay. Ed |

either one. I assume they both have cleaning instruments, but what is it about the kit that signifies it as a P08 kit or vice versa. But if I had a kit in my hand how would I know which one I have?

The early ones, I am not sure. The later ones were for ALL weapons, so there is not a P08 AND a Mauser 98 kit as far as I know....
