Default Broohandle Mauser

I'm wondering if someone could provide me with a little advice about Broomhandle Mausers. I was just at a local gun store and the owner had a Broomhandle on consignment for $1100.It is a Model 96 serial #40704 in 9mm, Waffen Fabrik Mauser Oberdorf Neckor. All of the serial numbers matched, the barrel was in great shape but the bluing seemed poor. In fact the gun was almost grey in color. It was mechanically in very good condition. The price seems a little high although I don't have any feeling for what a World War I piece should look like. The Blue Book isn't of too much value without having some sense of what % condition the gun is in. I don't really know a thing about these guns except that they are interesting looking. Can someone direct me to a site with pictures or the like? Once again thanks a lot for your help!
