Date on S/42

Hi All,

I just picked up a nice P-08 (vet acquired). It's a typical S/42 but instead of having a letter date code, the date is marked out "1937". Is this unusual?

The letter codes ceased in 1935. Full dates began being applied with the 1936 P08s.
