"How to" question from a newbie

Hello,

I recently just bought my very first luger and I was wanting to put some pictures of it on here so that you can help me ID and value it, along with the 2 magazines I got with it. My question is how do you guys take such great pictures of your guns and magazines? I have a simple Fuji digital camera and can't get the pictures to turn out when I try to take pictures of the markings. Any advice?
