"The Decks Ran Red"
50s B movie involving a couple guys hijacking a ship.
Broderick Crawford is a bad guy with a hunting rifle and the Captain is Dana Andrews.
He has a Luger but loses it swimming to save a guy who drowns anyways.
Not much of a flick.

Default Citizen Gangster

I watched this Canadian movie last night on Netflix. Edwin Boyd uses his "bring back" Luger to start his life of crime.

'The History Channel' just had on a segment of 'Wild West Tech' entitled 'Execution Tech' showing drawings and description of Tom Horn's Luger (and his hanging) which was pretty entertaining...

Heh...A cowboy with a Luger...No wonder they hanged him...

In addition to the Luger, he probably ate picante sauce made in New York City. Didn't even deserve to be hanged with a new rope.

IIRC, Steve McQueen made a movie about Tom Horn...I probably saw it years ago, but don't recall if they showed a Luger...

Default List Of Lugers In Movies

I seem to recall that somewhere on the Forum we had a list of luger appearances in the movies and/or on television. I may have spotted a couple more but would like to get a look at the current list to avoid duplication. I made a quick search of what I considered likely places on the Forum where the list might be, but no luck. Does anyone recall this list and where I might get a look at it?

Thanks,
Mark

Thanks Mr. Gruber,

Until it can be verified, I suggest that in the Addams Family episode, "My Son, The Chimp", two lugers can be seen laying on top of a round table to the left of Pugsley's bed. My, how times have changed. Try getting away with that today.

Columbo episode; "Double Exposure" (1973). Two lugers can be seen in a display case in Robert Culp's office.

Another Columbo episode "Negative Reaction", Dick Van Dyke's character shoots and kills his wife with a luger which, interestingly enough, shows that the toggle has not fully returned to battery. He shoots left handed also.

Default And Still Another ...

Luger seen during the opening credits of the Columbo episode "Dead Weight". Seen leaning against a crate along with a really handsome Thompson.

Do I detect grounds for a sticky or a mention in the FAQ?

I noticed when the last one (or two) appeared, but never paid it much heed. But Rich has a point, I think it would be less confusing if all in one thread.

Watching 'Z Nation' and one of the main characters suddenly has an artillery luger.

On one scene its very clear, around 18 mins? At about 14 mins it shows it, and there is this funny large hole and I finally figured out that the take down lever was missing!

I think I saw a Luger during the Academy Awards last night! It was during a clip for the movie Shok, a kid was holding the Luger. Shok was nominated for best short film, anyone seen it?

In the season two episode of Get Smart, "A Spy for a Spy", Maxwell Smart meets Siegfried to arrange a hostage exchange.
The two of them divest themselves of all their weapons including several revolvers, a couple of Mauser broom handles, knives, etc.

Then Don Adams pulls out a Borchardt to add to the pile...
Might be the first one I've ever seen in a TV show.
