John's words are EXACTLY what other cyber security folks have told me. Use those types of sites at your peril. There's a reason why percentagewise there are far fewer IT folks on face***k than there are in the general population. We know better.


If you feel you "must" use such sites, LIE. Lie about everything, obfuscate everything, and for Goddess's sake, don't use your legal name! And yea, NEVER re-use passwords, make them long strings of gibberish. A lot of sites limit what characters can be used, which is stupid as its actually harder to write code that way AND it decreases security - but do the best you can. A password like "k06V*0%wrzeCy8JV" used on ONE site only sure beats "password" everywhere...

Okay, so to start with, I read this to my wife.
1. Haven't been to any porn sites in years - first lie
2. I have Norton suite, run a firewall, plus use microsoft anti-attack products - so no download of my contacts or a video of me
3. I was a bit taken aback at the blatant threat and I imagine if I was a porn visitor and not a IT Security professional - I would have been fairly scared.
4. BTW - years ago, I used this email with an easy password for a few sites - I HAVE checked on-line to see if my information has been hacked during multiple hacks (see postings previous) and the answer for my hotmail account is yes. But years ago I went to a password vault.

I also quit after reading some stuff that you can't take seriously even if your only book on the matter is that old weary Kenyon's book.

Internet as a whole and Facebook specifically brought us a whole bunch of "experts" that simply demise all the previous knlowledge accumulated by generations of researchers and collectors work.
However, after I became a museum curator I need to be in touch with new "tools" to spread the word about preservation, published works and etc.

But, when it comes daown to serious research and information, books (printed) and Forums like this and Still's are my first source.
