A gift, I think...
My brother has handed me the signed title to his 1972 Norton 850 Commando. It's going to take some work to get it up and running, but it is all there. Last time he rode it was '85. I think it's a gift...With work attached. I've been bugging him about it for 20 years now.

That is a 1975 electric start 850 Roadster. And it looks like an easy restoration job. dju |

Silly me. In my excitement I didn't look at the title very close when he handed it to me. The title identifies it as a'76. I'll have to research the serial number and frame markings to get a firm date on it.

I don't believe that there were actually 1976 models, but unsold '75's that were sold in '76 and titled as such. All Mark III's and right at the end of Norton as we know it. There were quite a few new-in-crate '75's turning up for many years, still to this date actually.
At any rate, Nortons are a hot item with a strong following, and you done well. dju |
