Makes changing a mainspring much easier; and I've done it a lot with fitting a correct tension spring to the baby and to the carbine projects. These off beat barrel lengths require custom "tuning" of the spring to get good reliable function = in and out many, many times!
And as Eugen says, it looks nice too!
