Everyone’s waaaaaaaaaay over-thinking this:

Pack your unloaded and cased guns, your ammo, your accessories, etc. in your vehicle and drive to your destination. Obey the traffic laws, don’t give the cops any reason to stop you, keep your mouth shut if you do end up talking to them, and njoy your journey to newfound freedom. Stop trying to figure out USDOT hazmat commercial restrictions, extra-legal state regulations, etc.
926(A) guarantees you peaceable journey.

Interesting footnote; in Nebraska if you are a CCW permit holder you are required to offer your permit card to any LEO who has requested to see ID. So in this scenario, if you get pulled over for a faulty tail light bulb and provide the required identification, the next question is invariably, "Are you carrying?", to which you can honestly reply, "Yes officer, I have 37 handguns, 18 rifles, 14 shotguns, and 8 machineguns. And a ton of ammo..."

For some unrelated and unknown reason, I quickly came to New Jersey which is not involved but which has a former police officer incarcerated for transporting a weapon into the state and even telling a police officer about it ............. and DavidJayUden also came to the same unrelated state in his text above ...........

I drove from Commifornia to Florida, overloaded with ammo and firearms, no problems last year.
