Default One Man's Opinion

I have quite a few military rifles, pistols, Lugers, etc., and I really like those that show some use and history. I do have a few in excellent plus condition but those which were issued and used, possibly in combat, hold a greater historical appeal for me. If I had Daves's 30-40 percent matching Luger I would not want to have it refinished by Thor. I would absolutely never consider having it reblued by a gunshop.

I would think the best candidate for refinishing would be a dip blued Russian or East German rework. You can't hurt the finish on these, you can only make it better with proper refinishing. But Dave's Luger? My vote is to keep it like it is and appreciate the history.
