Announcing a joyous arrival!
I am thrilled to announce the arrival, at 10:07 a.m. today, of my latest bundle of joy: She weighs 35 ounces, length 10.5 inches, and she's just beautiful. Proud papa has not yet named her.
Delivery was handled by the Big Brown Truck. Obstetrician was Dr. Hugh Clark, who took a very mismatched 1918 DWM import and added a new six-inch 9mm barrel, square-notch toggle and gold-tipped Redfield Sourdough front sight. I guess that makes her a Navy Target/Hunting model? She has already been preregistered to attend the TLSS School of Charm and Beauty. Her safe siblings have welcomed her to the family, and she has bonded with the Colt 1911 U.S. Navy model, who was also born in 1918. She shows more than a passing resemblance in profile and balance to the pencil-barrel Colt pre-Woodsman, who is two years younger. Baby pix to follow. |
