Hi Dwight,

My local range did the same thing a couple of years ago. They said they were trying to improve the consistency of the brass casings they sweep off the floor and use for reloading themselves. They also discourage folks picking up brass off the floor, now.

Their prices for ammo are comparable to Wal-Mart...so most folks do not complain.
