Default Re: Mags Aimco Luger

I have one of the latter manufacture versions (year 2000 stamp). I had trouble with feeding problems and from another online site got the suggestion to try Winchester 115gr FMJ. They feed without problems in mine. The bullet shape is a little bit different from other manufactures and MAYBE this is why they feed. The taper is straighter and the round point is smaller in diameter. Who knows if this is why but it is closer to George Luger's original design. Try it, if it works for you, post a response.

The other problems I can't be of much help on. Mine has failed to lock open also on some magazines but always locks open when cycled by hand. I am going to try removing a little metal off the top of the slot that the magazine follower button rides in to see if it just does not go up high enough to push the hold open lever when working at shooting speeds.

I thank you for the post because I found out about the STP/gun oil mix. I will let you know how the work on my magazines goes. It may be a couple of weeks before I have a chance to try it.
