Steve this is a hobby unto itself. There are many, if not most of the collectors, that scan on e-bay for numbers. And in fact, there is a listing here on the forum of people offereing to trade their extra for matching mags.
Don Hallock has put out a list for years on this subject. So, yes, it does happen that people come across one, but rare. Same with people looking for a "part" to try and make their gun "look" right. To be truely matching, like Tom said, it has to match exact lettering, size, model (i.e. DWM, Mauser, erfurt all look a bit different)... Many folks are happy if they can match up the same suffix number or acceptance numbers. Ed
