1911 WW1 Springfield barrel

the barrel with the interlaced HP on top of the chamber was used by Colt in new production Militaries 1918 to 1919, ser# range from about 425,000 to 710,000. I have had a Model of the U.S. Army in the 600,000 ser# range with such a barrel, and I understand it to be correct for that period of WWI production.

I have never seen a "K" mark on a barrrel. Perhaps you are referring to the "H" found on the top of the breech face on much of Colt Barrel production? If so, barrels from about SER#25,000 to 720,000 shouldn't have those if they are marked with the several variations of "HP" on the top of the chamber (including intertwined).
