Looks Bulgarian to me Pete... Maybe Jerry B. can comment.

Its Bulgarian; the Persian has a slightly different contour to the bucket.

Generally, you can't give Bulgarian leather away.

Tom, I find this odd? Is it because it is newer? Funny prejudice because of looks?

Any-hoo, I am guessing this will change with time?

I guess I am the foolish exception. I collect Bulgarian leather, possibly because I have a couple of Bulgarian Lugers. There are interesting variations and, because lots of folks think they are trash , they are usually at a price I can afford.

Anybody want a Bulgarian Luger holster, give me a shout. I have several of them...different species too. I'm tired of hauling them around.

I just bought one with the long flap from this seller on Ebay. I paid $62 plus shipping although the dealer noted there were scuffs. I will post pictures when it arrives.

I did not know George Anderson had a bunch hoarded up :-(

Here are photos of a 1911 dated Bulgarian Holster I purchased from a noted Navy/Krieghoff collector. This one is marked 1911 on the back and shows very nice German workmanship but on the softer thinner leather that seems common in the Bulgarian holster. The Maker appears to be
Gustave Werner, and the city looks like Wurtz ? The holster is still locked up in Cincinnati while I am in Pittsburg waiting on the new place to be buildt and I have to guess based on the photograph

Also an interesting discussion about Bulgarian leather on the "Land of Borchardt" website.

I'm with my pal keoki...
For a bottle of jefferson Reserve (The 15 year old stuff, not the bilge that is on the market now) , I will trade a mint Vulgarian, a used VG Vulgarian and throw in a couple of skate keys.

Tom, If I could I would take you up on that. If they ever had a bottle of Jefferson Reserve 15 year old here in the land of the closed steel mill, it is probably still on the shelf.

I will however check for you gratis old buddy :-)
