Michele, it sounds like a Walter "PP" DA pistol. Caliber is also known as .32 ACP. Quality pistol. This is a semi-educated guess, I would need to see it.
Are you sure it is a "Mauser" since it is marked "Walter"? Hope this helps. Lock and Load!
