Red Dot is an excellent powder with a variety of uses. I've burned a few pounds of it over the years and it's always performed well. My ONLY complaint is that, like the other powders from the same company, it doesn't work well through a meter! While the Lee Perfect Measure does a reasonable job on flake powders, it still doesn't throw the most consistent charges one would like. That's why I use ball powders or VERY small grain stick powders.

Winchester once made a powder number 630 that was excellent in both .30 and 9mm Luger. Lately I've been using WW-571 which has also been discontinued I believe. An outstanding powder in 9mm is Vectan BA-9 and it's currently being sold by Graf & Sons, Mexico, MO. It's a French powder specifically developed for 9mm.
