Pete, a little short on your estimate. It needs a BIG BUNCH of TLC, as well as a BIG BUNCH of Jerry's expertise.

The body on this holster is really nice...The minimum I charge for a complete holster restitch is $165.00 so at the least a person would have in this one would be $265. I would save my money for a really nice one that does not need any work. It is rebuildable but does it make economic sense? I have rebuilt a lot worse though...Jerry Burney

Hey Guys,

Maybe I am missing something here...but the only stitching that I could see needing rework was around the magazine pouch...

It does show some leather wear...but it is from 1915...

What else am I missing ?

Regards,

Pete... <img border="0" alt="[typing]" title="" src="graemlins/yltype.gif" />

Pete, The magazine pouch is what the whole holster is built around. If the magazine pouch needs restitching the whole holster has to be taken apart to get at it. There are probably some things on it that might not need stitching but you have to remember...if some part of the holster stitching is rotten or pulled out, you can bet the rest of the stitching is weak from age or dry rot. Linen is a plant fiber and can remain incredibly strong but if the holster has been in an environment that affects some part it,it has affected the rest too in all likelyhood. Jerry Burney
