CalDoc, Interesting question. I can only speculate on it and give you no real deffinate information.
I would suspect, that correctly as you surmise, the holster original to the pistol might have been a commercial unmarked piece. This being said I would explore a little more on what you mean by correct and commercial. I realize these pistols are believed to be commercial but almost no pistol in wartime Germany 1941 remained so. I would think this pistol surely saw war service,it is sure to be the case. So why would not a military holster be just as correct as a commercial? The pistol started out as a commercial and ended up as a military. Either would be appropriate in my way of thinking. It would be entirely up to you to choose which would be preferable. By the way, congratulations on your fine pistol. It is truly a rare one! Welcome to the Forum...Jerry Burney
