CalDoc, Interesting question. I can only speculate on it and give you no real deffinate information.

I would suspect, that correctly as you surmise, the holster original to the pistol might have been a commercial unmarked piece. This being said I would explore a little more on what you mean by correct and commercial. I realize these pistols are believed to be commercial but almost no pistol in wartime Germany 1941 remained so. I would think this pistol surely saw war service,it is sure to be the case. So why would not a military holster be just as correct as a commercial? The pistol started out as a commercial and ended up as a military. Either would be appropriate in my way of thinking. It would be entirely up to you to choose which would be preferable.
