I have discovered that Artilleries are not really hard to find, at least four have cropped up at local gun shows in the last few months, there are quite a few of them for sale on-line.
But Ed is right, the natural proclivity is to keep them! And, they are -totally- great to shoot! They feel different from a four-incher, they sound different, and their accuracy verges on phenomenal, even hand-held (I have not had an opportunity to shoot one with a stock yet, a circumstance which I hope to rectify soon). I didn't think that I was particularly interested in Artilleries until I bought one, now I am hooked, and pursuing the possibility of buying a second one--to collect, not shoot, this time. If you find that you are at all interersted, I highly recommend owning one. --Dwight |
