Dan,Welcome to the Forum! Hope it's not too warm for you in Phoenix!
I would not disasemble this magazine. If it is original it will devalue it to drift out this pin and if you dent up the mag it will ruin it altogether. Removing the follower is best left up to those who have the proper jigs and drifts. Beating on the pin that holds it in will quickly turn the mag into junk.
Nickle aluminum mags were made for any type. They should work with 9MM or .30
No markings does not automatically mean it is not original.
Mecgar magazines are excellent for shooting. Aquire one and you will see if the jamming problem is the mag or not.
You can probably sell the mag you have and get a couple of Mecgar's. Good luck, Jerry Burney
