How do you trace serial # on 1941 Mauser byf

Bear, it is almost impossible to trace the gun, although that is for historical purposes, it might be possible in some states to track a gun, as maybe some states keep the serial numbers in a data base?

To get a reasonable guess on value, we can help with that. Can you tell us any other markings on the gun?
