Unspellable, I'm glad you brought that up, my 1916 DWM and the Simpson, both refinished, have the same thing. Both sets are serial #d (last two) to the Lugers and the finish is nearly exact on both. I have been wondering about them as the checkering on both is like new, why would a refinisher varathane them?
