Just an addendum: I have two Mitchell stainless Lugers that take standard magazines. In fact, back when, I picked up an extra Mitchell magazine for my other Lugers, they're pretty nice.

I have a Stoeger Luger. It takes a non-standard magazine, so watch out for this point. You can only use the Stoeger magazine. I think Stoeger's "Luger" logo detracts from the appearance of the pistol.

I have no knowledge of what the post Stoeger AIMCO lugers use for magazines.
