The US compass cases and first aid pouches are the same. Best field expedient use I ever saw was
stacking C ration cans in army socks and tying it to the rear frame of our rucksack, could eat quick without unpacking, also hooking canteens to same by the canteen cap strap. Also used inner tube strips for securing battle rattle stuff. And sometimes there used to really be a gas mask in the case. rk |
