Yes, magazines are interchangeable... the best commercial ones are Mec-gar and triple-K

The best original magazines are the extruded FXO type or the East German equivilant... or the Extruded police magazines by Haenel Schmeisser, but these are expensive. the commercial mags are best for shooting because you don't have to worry about damaging them by dropping.

Prices for a new barrel installed? Probably about $100.00 or a little more, plus shipping of course, but get an exact quote from the two guys I mentioned earlier. You wouldn't have to send the whole gun, just the upper half...
