you may be correct that firearms after a 1934 are not required to have a ser number, however altering a ser number on just about anything (including firearms), is illegal in every state that I know of, not to mention Federal Law. Clearly the from the photos one can see the ser number has been altered. But your right, I would keep any paper work that is generated as a result of this if things turn out favorable. Jim
