Real ivory is a pretty expensive way to go. At a recent gun show, I saw a pair of plain ivory Luger grips with a price tag of $350. The grips I have are a post war (WWII) set made up for a GI by an unknown Japanese artisan. They portray the dragon of peace (closed mouth) and the dragon of war (open mouth). Don't know what they are worth, but I value them at around $500.
