I've been looking for a second magazine for my 1917 DWM...what should I be looking for (or better--"looking out" for!) ?
I've seen Mecgar mags (Italy?) on-line, and many of the catalogs I have (Cheaper than Dirt, etc) have Luger mags...are these "generic" and/or reliable? The mag I have now has an aluminum base--I've heard of wood bases--it has "fxo" near the base with a proof mark (with a 37) and "P-08" nearby... What I want is a second mag which is reliable, and will be used to complete my "ensemble" of Luger and holster. Any help or tips would be appreciated...thx! <img src="graemlins/yltype.gif" border="0" alt="[typing]" /> |

JohnB,
If you are looking for an appropriate magazine for your DWM 1917, it must have a wood bottom and be numbered left-to-right across the wood bottom. If you are just looking for a functional magazine for shooting, the Mec-Gar works well. I have several of these that I use with my Luger shooters and have never had a problem. Luke
