Re, the arty: The play in the magazine is normal. I suppose that you could hard solder some shim stock on the mag release button but that wouldn't really fix anything, might create a problem. I find it interesting that the toggle only locks open with one round left. The hold open is engaged by the loading button on the magazine, and normally the problem is the opposite, it won't lock open. My best guess is that there is something pushing the hold open up too soon. I suggest taking off the right grip and inserting a magazine so that you can see what's going on. Also, if you haven't already done so, completely disassemble and thoroughly clean the gun. KFS
