Is the photo 'mirrored'? The holster appears to be a left hand and the marking on the cap is 'unusual'.

I think that he has his hat on upside-down, for the number is a mirrored and upside-down '20'.

As a pickelhaube collector I can assure you the 70 on the helmet cover is 100% correct. The holster seems to be for a Reichsrevolver or perhaps a captured weapon.
