I assure you I was not trying to be impolite, but with Persian LPs going for several thousands, I felt direct language was appropriate.

I'd druther run the risk of offending you than having you stuck with a second Christmas Turkey.

Throughout my lack-luster military career I was frequently counseled for lack of tact, FWIW.
