Grips now fit. It took a little time and elbow grease. To get them to match the general looks of the originals, I did a little "antiquing" (sanded, stained them dark, dark brown, a few nicks and dings, oil and a lot of hand rubbing with true oil). They now look like they are from the 1930s and match the rest of the gun in appearance. Of course, they are bulkier, coarser checkering, and do not reflect the quality German workmanship of the originals, but I won't cry if they chip or crack when I shoot it. If I can get the digital camera from my girlfriend, I'll post some pictures.
