John Martz Baby Luger

I just returned from a collector friend and viewed a JVM baby Luger that was made from a 1900 American Eagle Luger. The caliber is 7.65 and as usual beautiful condition with the dished toggle. My question is what is the current market price on these?

I paid $7200 for mine. Probably paid too much, but it is a dandy.

I notice it has the toggle dish's reversed. Is that characteristic of the 'babies' or just what was available?

Great observation.I had to go and look at some of my old pictures and the toggles were dished the other way.

The toggle dishes aren't reversed, I am not sure what you are seeing?

My mistake! Sorry for the confusion!

I had actually pulled out a Parabellum with reversed dish's for comparison. I should have pulled out a 'real' M1900.

Getting old, and have forgotten where half my guns came from.

No, the gun is an American Eagle. I think that John just liked the metal insert magazine bottom for its classy look (as do I).

John Martz made fifty A.E. Luger conversions. Ten were babies chambered in 7.65 (produced over the period 1976-2003).

Martz conversions didn't 'reverse' the toggle dish.
