Being a newbie, please be very careful taking off the LH grip panel. Most of these have the little pointed tip at the back broken off from improper handling. Your grips are irreplacable (as are all the original numbered parts) and add significant value to the gun. The procedure I use is to remove magazine, remove RH grip panel, then carefully poke the LH panel loose from the RH side, through the frame, trying to keep it even as it moves away from the frame.
