Yes to a hold open numbered to the gun, should have been standard in a 1914 military. No unit marks.
The British proofs are unusual in and of themselves. No TON marking or sign of a particular proof house. “Not English Make” and proof marks struck lightly and inconspicuously, many in spots I would have expected to see crown/RC marks. Any ideas?
