This is a standard 1938 manufactured military contact Luger by Mauser, so it missed out on the Great War, the Weimar Republic and the early TR period. Was obviously captured on the eastern front during WW2 and later reissued to the GDR (East Germany). Unfortunately the plastic grips that the GDR used to replaced the original wooden ones were subsequently removed on this pistol to accommodate the private purchased pearl ones. For unknown reason the safety lever was also changed out when the pistol was refurbished in a GDR armory.
