Opinions on this luger magazine

I found this mag and thought it kind of interesting. I got it because of the starburst K, but wondered about the top being flattened and larger numbers put on. It looks like the faint outline of another number underneath. Do you think this was period done or post war? I don't get to see many "variations" of magazines so I wondered if this could be legit or just messed up by someone.
