So my Lugers show no discernible pattern on this, though it is something I seem to have informally noticed as I have been handling more Lugers that the left side seems to get more slap.
In the order I attached the pictures below: 1. 1920 commercial. Whoever had it before I did shot the crap out of it. Left side has more slap wear. 2. My Brazilian Contract . Seems to have been shot little, can see a slight bit more toggle slap on the left than the right has developed. 3. GT built P.08 shooter. I have shot the ever loving crap of this particular gun (and manually manipulated it a ton too, this is the gun I used to truly familiarize myself intimately with the Luger). The pics never captured it as I tried, but in hand the toggle slap wear is dead even. 4. GT built Navy shooter. I have not shot this one, but also interested to see that the toggle slap wear so far is also dead even. 5. Refinished Erfurt LP.08. I have shot this a decent amount, and it’s slap wear-at least on the refinish-is biased to the RIGHT side almost completely… 6. Bonus, an RMI potmetal toy Luger with the working action. The wear doesnt match any of the other Luger patterns though.
