Background checks

Not particularly concerned yet but this has never happened to me before. I called the store and asked the clerk if it came through yet, no dice, when asked what could be the hold up just got some BS about only 4 people in Denver running the checks for everything west of the Mississippi. Doubtful. Anyway, did not put down my SS# I never have in the past and am reluctant to especially when dealing with a chain store. I have no doubt it will be approved, no reason not to but who knows anymore. I just have to be patient I guess.
