Need to ID strange Luger Carbine

Alex, Looks like a real beauty. Seems really well done. No stock? marked 1916 it started life as a military not any kind of commercial like regular carbines were. Have you shot it?

I shot this 5 shot group , standing at 25 yards. Very good shooter. No stock. But I think stock can be found or made (?).

What I dont understand is what is the difference between 1920 Luger Carbines and Martz Luger Carbine?

Barrel length. In order not to create a SBR, Martz's barrels on projects that would be used with a stock were at least 16", presumably so they would be more universally marketable.

It's possible, of course, if you live in a state that allows, to do the federal paperwork, background check, and $200 payment for the tax involved to legally own an SBR. Original Carbines have been exempted from this rule, like an original Artillery or Navy.

Thank You. Ok. Mine measures 16 inches. So its not a German made model of 1920 and not marked anywhere as a John Martz gun. I take it apart and see if I can find anything that can show who made it. My understanding is that Martz guns were all marked.
