Other than the mismatching rear sight, everything else appears to match. If the bore is decent, the price is not bad IMO. Most LP-08 Lugers, even mixmasters, will sell for more.
I was curious about the Spandau/Erfurt style eagle on the receiver as I normally associate it with Erfurt Lugers or parts. There were no LP-08 Lugers made by Erfurt in 1915. I THINK I found the answer in Goetz & Sturgess. The Special Contract rules that DWM accepted stationed inspectors from the Spandau Royal Arsenal at DWM. They used the Spandau Eagle stamp and I think one of them stamped the subject receiver. |
