Robert,
The grips are definitely not original. Note the poor fit and wide flat area around the grip edges. Original grips are contoured to meet the edge of the grip frame, checkered right to the edge. In addition, note the new and unworn appearance of the grips compared to the wear on the grip frame. KFS |

thanks for the reply - checked with 94 year old vet + he said that those grips were on it when he retrieved it from surrender pile - could they be war time replacements ? - there are no numbers inside the grip panels -
