Well, regardless of who wins the Series tonight, no one has won this giveaway. Pistol came closest, but his Astros didn't win in 6.
![]() A lot of issues came up with this seemingly simple contest. As with eBay, members in the east were aware of the contest before those in the west. Those with fast internet connections also received notifications quicker. Originally I envisioned a simple overall winner, but when it appeared too many were claiming the same team, I had to revise to include number of games it took to win. In hindsight, I probably should have started the contest before any of the playoff games. There was no entry fee/bid, and I made no profit. There was no outright winner. I suppose we all lost. ![]() My thought now is to offer this byf Luger (whose pictures I had posted some time ago) in a future contest. I'm not sure if the same or similar format can be adapted to other sports, like hockey, futbol, or even football. Motor racing is out, as except for world sports cars, all other racing is a popularity contest. Baseball and tennis are the only sports I follow even casually. If interested, we might have to wait until next October for the next world series. ![]() Anyone have any ideas???

The next closest major sports tournament is the College Football Playoff, followed closely by the NFL playoffs.
Of course, a March Madness Bracket may be the best and most fun way of doing a re-run.
