Kenfromalaska,
I don't mean to be rude, but give up. This gun is a plain old shooter that some idiot yahoo rebarreled to 30 cal. That ammo is more expensive and harder, sometimes, to get than 9mm. My advise is to watch ebay for a cheap 9mm barrel and screw off the old barrel and replace it. Doing a TLSS job will make it look pretty but it will still be just a shooter. The cost will not justify the return. Unless you want it for your own personal shooting. Then that becomes another story. But you will just be chasing bad money with good money if your decide to restore.

Wow! Talk about your flashbacks. Any idea if anyone carries any of that CIA/Canadian ammo nowadays? I have a few cases inherited from my dad. He was quite the collector of ammunition (somewhere in the realm of ~ 300,000 rounds of various llineages) and I was curious if there was a site that dealt just with ammunition?

Thanks!

Well...the "sows ear" (to quote Hugh) is back from rebarreling and now hangin on the end is a properly installed 9mm imperial marked barrel (and the #s are only 430 off!). There are a few import marks on the barrel (which will eventually dissapear) but the important thing is.....

It shoots! Holy Toledo! Hugh sent me a test target at 25 yards, maybe a 2 1/2 inch group a few inches high...I couldnt wait so put some muffs on and fired off a few mags at 20 feet into a bullet trap using HSM 115 grain reloads. Basically one ragged hole!! Only one failure to feed (nose up jam mag related) and the toggle doenst lock back (also mag related)..

Next stop....engraving evaluation...then polishing...then TLSS...for now its happily sitting in my truck..I might use it as my back up carry gun LOL... <img src="graemlins/wave.gif" border="0" alt="[byebye]" />
