A 1908 Navy doesn't have a grip safety...only the 1904 and 1906 have a grip safety. The navy dumped the grip safety when the army adopted the Luger without a grip safety in 1908. And the 1908, like the 1906, still doesn't have a chamber date (nor frame or sight dates). Dated chambers came in with the 1914 Navy.
The subject gun is a 1908 Navy, but because of the lousy photos there is no way of knowing if it is authentic.

The seller's photos, wretched though they may be, do show a long frame gun. If I were interested in a possible purchase I'd ask the seller to post the view shown below, the 1908 Navy is the only gun with both a long frame and a large flange rear toggle axle.

Dwight is right, all his other items have the same fuzzy shots at uninformative angles as this one---even his $11,000 1902 Carbine.

Heh. It could have two Crown/Ms...or it could just have two smudges.

I don't recognize the seller, but several other Lugers are listed.

DJU, I don't know much about Navy Lugers, but I am sure this 1904 Navy that I spotted recently is much nicer than the one for sale.

Norm said "with BOTH a long frame and larger flange"; the 1914 models dated 1916 and 1917 have the larger flange, but are short frame pistols.

Well the seller had excellent feed back and offered five day inspection/return, I could not completely ignore the voices I was hearing......
