To follow up on this, I ended up getting a Mec-Gar (new) magazine, which solved ALL my reliability problems.

Glad to hear that a new Mec-Gar mag has you up and running, and enjoying you 06/73. You might want to consider sending your OEM Mauser mags to GT, and have him install his "whiz-bang special Luger mag springs" in the mags.....just a thought.
